Happy New Year my friends!  I hope 2016 brings much love, good health, and happiness to each and every one of you.  It’s that time of year, so let’s take a look back at the 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015.  Apparently a lot of people enjoy cheesy, spicy, carb rich food. Can’t say I blame them!

The 10 Most Popular Recipes from Im Bored Lets Go for 2015. Looks like people love cheese, spice and carbs!

Curious what they are?  Here we go…

No. 1 – MEXICAN SPAGHETTI BAKE

No. 1 of 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015 is this Mexican Spaghetti Bake This yummy Mexican Spaghetti Bake was the result of cleaning out my pantry in an effort to use up random cans of food so I didn’t have to move them to Florida.  It’s so simple to prepare. You just might have all the ingredients on hand like I did and, if not, no problem, it’s easily adaptable to toss in whatever you like.  Black beans, corn, whatever… it’s all good!  Just make sure you have lots of cheese!!!

No. 2 – CHICKEN PESTO PASTA BAKE

No. 2 of 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015 is this Chicken Pesto Pasta BakeOoey, gooey, comfort food at it’s best. Yup, that’s what this Chicken Pesto Pasta Bake is all about.  Similar to a basic mac and cheese with chicken, spinach and mushrooms.  Because, you know, have to up the healthy factor 😉

No. 3 – CARNE ASADA STREET TACOS

No. 3 of the 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015 are these Carne Asada Street TacosStreet tacos are one of my all time favorite things to eat.  These Carne Asada Street Tacos are no exception.  They’re awesome (and even better if you can grill them on a BBQ) you should give them a try.  We love tacos of all kinds around here so if you want to try some with a little different spin be sure to check out Salmon Tacos with Thai Curry Sauce, Greek chicken tacos, and the Chipotle shrimp jicama tacos I made with jicama shells.

No. 4 – LEMON DROP MARTINI

No. 4 of the 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015 are these Lemon Drop Martini with a little Limoncello - So good! There’s an abundance of cocktails on this blog but I’m not surprised this Lemon Drop Martini has been the most popular.  It’s a classic and one of my all time favorites!  There’s no shortage of Martini Madness here on I’m Bored Let’s Go so be sure to check them all out – you might find a new favorite!

No. 5 – MEXICAN TACO CASSEROLE

No. 5 of the 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015 is this Mexican Taco CasseroleAnother taco theme happening here…this time in the form of a casserole.  Combining all the things you love about tacos baked in cheesy goodness!  Again, it’s another recipe that’s easy to modify to your personal preferences.

No. 6 – WATERMELON MOSCOW MULE

Watermelon Moscow Mule with fresh watermelon juice is the 6th of the 10 most popular recipe of 2015Moscow mules have become quite popular the past few years so it’s only natural to come up with variations, like this refreshing Watermelon Moscow Mule. They’re a big hit.  For even more variety, check out the Mexican Mule (it has a little jalapeño and cilantro) and the Templeton Mule (made with rye whiskey).  You’ll love them too, I promise!

No. 7 – BACON JALAPENO MAC AND CHEESE

No. 7 of the 10 most popular recipes of 2015 is Bacon Jalapeño Mac N CheeseOk, I think this is one of my favorite things to eat.  I mean really, what’s not to love about a mac and cheese that’s full of bacon and jalapeños?  Well, I guess if you don’t like jalapeños then you might not get where I’m coming from. But if you’re like me and love jalapeños… and bacon… then you must give this Bacon Jalapeño Mac and Cheese a try.

No. 8 – LOW CARB PIZZA CRUST

Oopsie Bread w/Pesto, Shrimp, Goat CheeseThis one took me a bit by surprise.  Low carb pizza crust, also known as “oopsie bread,” was one of the very early recipes on this blog.  For some reason it got traction in the search engines and I continue to get visits daily to this recipe.  I have to admit, I haven’t made this in ages but now with the new year and healthier eating resolutions I think I’ll make this low carb pizza crust again…soon!

No. 9 – BREAKFAST HASH WITH CHORIZO AND EGGS

Breakfast Hash with Chorizo & EggsI love this yummy breakfast hash which is another one of those early in the blog recipes.  Potatoes, chorizo and a fried egg on top.  Doesn’t get much better than that!  Oh, and if you don’t like your eggs fried with a drippy, runny yolk, go ahead and scramble them.  I did that too!  Now, if you want to really treat your friends or family to something special, try these Hasselback Potatoes with Chorizo and Eggs for an impressive presentation!

No. 10 – PECAN PIE MARTINI

Pecan Pie MartiniLast, but not least, on this list of the 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015 is this Pecan Pie Martini.  It’s another older recipe from the first few months of blogging but still remains popular throughout the fall.  It makes a great holiday time cocktail so be sure to print it off and give it a try next time!

Hold on.  Almost done. I have a BONUS for you…

This post for Making an Awkward Shaped Living Room Work was my ninth most viewed post all year.  But since its not a recipe I’m adding it as an extra!

Apartment Living RoomI didn’t do as many creative decorating posts in 2015 as I would have liked. Obviously, I focused more on food…especially ice cream and popsicle recipes (which is my favorite food group, btw).  But, I do love to decorate and we move a lot which gives me lots of opportunities to change things up frequently.  (Did I mention we’re moving again in 3 weeks?) Our apartment in Washington DC was a bit challenging to decorate so I wrote about it.  I’m not alone out there in the world with an awkward space to decorate because I’ve heard from a lot of you that are in the same prediciment. I hope I was able to help those that asked me for suggestions.

So what do you think? Do you agree with this list of the 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2015?  While I love all these recipes, many of my favorites didn’t make the cut :(  To be perfectly honest, I think these recipes got so popular because they were popular on Pinterest or got picked up on sites much bigger than mine.  Thank you Huff Post, Buzz Feed, Delish.com, and all the others that have shared the love this past year!  Let’s get cooking!
